Meludia Hearing | Hearing aid users – Hear better
Why is your perception essential?
Hearing aid settings are based on essential objective measurements. Yet, with identical settings, the listening experience can vary.
In everyday life, the following may persist:
- sounds perceived as too loud,
- limited speech understanding in noise,
- too much listening effort.
These factors relate to how you actually perceive sounds in everyday life, and they can help guide device adjustments.
To hear well, your hearing aids must be adjusted as precisely as possible to your hearing.
Your hearing care professional can interpret how you perceive sounds in everyday life. To do that, they need you to express what you’re feeling; and that’s not always easy to describe!
Meludia Hearing was designed to support this adjustment,
in close collaboration with your hearing care professionals.
How can you share your perception with your hearing care professional?
It is often difficult for a hearing aid user to explain precisely what they hear well—or less well.
Meludia Hearing makes it possible to turn this subjective perception into actionable information to fine-tune hearing aid settings.
In addition to standard audiometric tests, your hearing care professional may offer you the protocol to help optimize settings from Meludia Hearing.
This protocol makes it possible to assess how you actually perceive sounds in everyday life. It is mainly based on the Intensity Perception Test (IPT), a Medical Device, which reliably highlights comfort and discomfort zones by frequency.
This protocol enables:
- a structured assessment of your perception,
- the creation of your Dynamic Audio Profile,
- measuring the impact of new settings.
The results are then shared with your audiologist to support and fine-tune the settings.
How does it work day to day?
Meludia Hearing is part of a year-long support program; it is a medical device app to be used under the supervision of your hearing aid specialist.
The process is simple:
- You take the tests at home on your smartphone (3 sessions of 20 min), whenever it suits you best.
- Your hearing care professional automatically receives your results to analyze them.
- At your next appointment, your hearing care professional adjusts your device settings if needed, based on the data received.
- A little later, you take the tests again at home to check the new settings or track changes in your hearing.
