optimize your device settings
Why is your perception essential?
Settings are based on essential objective measurements. Yet even with identical settings, the listening experience can vary.
In everyday life, the following may persist:
- sounds perceived as too loud,
- limited speech understanding in noise,
- too much listening effort.
These factors relate to the real-world perception of sounds in your daily life and can guide device adjustments.
Meludia Hearing Better was designed to support this adaptation, in close collaboration with your hearing care professionals.
The "UHD FINE TUNING" Protocol:
To help you share your perception
In addition to standard audiometric tests, your audiologist may offer you the “UHD Fine tuning” fitting protocol, or support for optimizing Meludia Hearing Bettersettings.
This protocol makes it possible to assess your real-world perception of sounds in everyday life using the IPT, the Intensity Perception Test. The IPT is a medical device.
This protocol enables:
- a structured assessment of your perception,
- the creation of your Dynamic Audio Profile,
- measuring the impact of new settings.
The results are then shared with your audiologist to support and fine-tune the settings.
Help your brain learn to listen well to these new sounds
After a period of hearing loss, it can take time and stimulation to listen well.
Here too, we need you to train your brain for this mission and reduce listening effort!
What are the goals of the training?
A personalized auditory-cognitive training program, done independently at home, aims to:
- help reduce listening effort,
- contribute to more accurate sound processing,
- free up the brain for understanding.
It is part of a progressive approach supervised by your healthcare professionals.
It’s not about performance, but about helping the brain listen better to sounds—so it can process them better and help you enjoy everyday life.
Meludia Hearing Better was designed to support this adaptation, in close collaboration with your hearing care professionals.
The "UHD TRAINING" Protocol:
To help you listen well daily with your hearing aids
Your audiologist may also offer the Meludia Audition training protocol as an add-on.
In some cases, even when devices are well adjusted, auditory-cognitive stimulation can be useful and effective for good listening.
This protocol aims to:
- reduce listening effort,
- improve the accuracy of sound processing,
- better manage resistance to noise.
The results are then shared with the healthcare professionals who follow you.
Of course, this program cannot under any circumstances replace speech therapy if it proves necessary.
