The Faroe Islands have just formalized an exclusive partnership with Meludia. Starting April 9, 2018, the Meludia web application will be freely accessible to all residents of these islands, home to 50,000 inhabitants, located between Scotland, Iceland, and Norway. The aim of this operation is to create a public online service for musical education and to increase the overall level of musical education among the inhabitants of the Faroe Islands.
"Meludia allows one to learn the fundamentals of music through play and emotional development. The platform adapts to beginners, professional musicians, and all musician profiles."
"I really like the fact that Meludia is accessible in Faroese, making it accessible to everyone in the Faroe Islands."
In connection with the April launch, a Meludia team will spend a week presenting the Meludia platform in public schools, music schools, the university, retirement homes, the hospital, and in centers for people with learning disorders.
"The goal of Meludia is to enable children and adults to learn music in the same way one learns to read, write, and speak a foreign language. I welcome all users from the Faroe Islands to the world of music."
This “roadshow” aims to raise awareness among the public about the importance of musical education, but also to demonstrate how to use the Meludia platform and its 600 exercises to as many Faroese as possible, regardless of their social status or musical knowledge.
Bastien Sannac, President and co-founder of Meludia, said, “A big thank you to Sunleif Rasmussen and the Faroese Government for having the vision and determination to bring this project to fruition, which will be so beneficial for their people. We are thrilled that the Faroe Islands are committed to joining us in spreading and promoting a vision of the education of the future accessible to all because it is more intuitive, more sensory, and more emotional.”
