The Republic of Estonia has formalized a unique and unprecedented partnership with Meludia. From December 1, 2015, until the end of the year, access to the Meludia platform will be completely free for all citizens of this Northern European country with 1.3 million inhabitants.
Globally recognized as a high-tech reference, the Estonian government has been developing and using innovative platforms for about a decade that allow its citizens to vote online, sign contracts, declare taxes, or start a business in 18 minutes. These services will now extend to music education, allowing for the first time in the world to democratize access to music learning across an entire country.
"Estonia is celebrating the 'Year of Music' in 2015, and this partnership with Meludia is one of the highlights of the year. Meludia is an innovative and fun educational tool that allows everyone to deepen their understanding of music and appreciate with greater intensity the concepts and nuances of musical composition. I hope this will bring a lot to all Estonians, regardless of their age and musical level."
With a long tradition of choirs, festivals, and great composers including the famous Arvo Pärt, Estonia is globally recognized as an extremely musical country. “The Singing Revolution,” which greatly contributed to the independence of the Baltic states from the USSR between 1987 and 1991, saw extraordinary intensity in Estonia, with spontaneous gatherings of 300,000 people singing patriotic hymns in the main square of Tallinn. This non-violent and musical revolution symbolizes the importance of music in the history and identity of Estonia and its inhabitants.
"Meludia is an extraordinary way to study the fundamentals of music privately. The platform allows for the development of natural intuition and musicality, a learning experience often absent in music schools. Meludia adapts equally well to professional musicians and beginners. The sounds heard are beautiful and of the highest quality, and it is a pleasure to visualize them. I strongly recommend Meludia to anyone who wants to explore their inner musicality or develop their ear in a natural and very pleasant way."
